Denmark's Anne-Marie Rindom claims gold at the ILCA 6 World Championships, while seven countries book their ticket to Paris 2024

Today concluded one of the most important sailing events of the year, the 2024 ILCA 6 Women’s World Championship, organised by the Yacht Club Argentino and the International Laser Class Association, held in the City of Mar del Plata, Argentina.
On the sixth and final day of the championship, an east wind of approximately 12 knots held through the gold and silver fleet races. As the day progressed, the wind shifted to the northeast and gradually decreased to 7 knots, closing the Medal Race with the classic Mar del Plata breeze.
Anne Marie Rindom from Denmark was crowned Women’s World Champion in the ILCA 6 Class 2024, maintaining her lead throughout the championship. The current Olympic champion finished with 58 points in eleven races. Charlotte Rose from the United States finished in second place with 75 points, and with a three-point difference, the Belgian Emma Plasschaert secured third place.

Seven spots were awarded for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games to the following countries: Finland, Ireland, Uruguay, Spain, Brazil, Turkey and Mexico.
A total of 101 boats from 46 countries participated, including Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Bermuda, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Cyprus, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Fiji, Finland, France, Germany, Guatemala, Hungary, India, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Kuwait, Lithuania, Mexico, Norway, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Romania, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine, the United Kingdom, the United States, Uruguay, and Venezuela.
